Gift Cards on Maxifleur: Digital Gifting via Magento 2
For online shops with a higher average order value, such as Maxifleur, a specialist in artificial plants, gift cards are a proven way to attract new customers with low barriers to entry. Seasonal peaks such as Mother’s Day, Christmas, and birthdays require a gift option that is fast, digital, and reliable. Standard Magento functionality did not offer a ready-made solution that aligned with the brand’s premium image and the technical requirements of a multi-store view environment.
Younify developed a custom gift card module fully tailored to Maxifleur’s requirements. Upon purchase, gift cards are automatically delivered via email, including a personalized greeting and a QR code as an alternative input method at checkout. Credit is applied directly within the shopping cart.
A key technical focus was the multi-store view logic: a gift card purchased on one store view must also be redeemable on other store views. Younify implemented a centralized validation layer for this purpose that crosses store view boundaries without introducing currency errors. Additionally, the admin UX was refined so that customer service can independently create and deactivate gift cards and view balance history — all from a single, clear Magento Admin grid.
The gift card system immediately generated measurable additional revenue through gifting transactions during the first seasonal peak. Visitors who receive a digital voucher convert faster on average than cold-traffic visitors, which benefits the overall ROAS of the channel. Furthermore, the automatic email delivery ensures a smooth, brand-worthy experience that fits Maxifleur’s premium positioning.
